FKLI Futures Trading - Bursamalaysia
This will chronicle trading in the FKLI & FCPO futures. If you don't like what you see/read in this blog, just surf away. These opinions are our personal opinions and just a record of our thoughts..."In evolution, it’s not the biggest, the fiercest nor the smartest that survive, it’s the one that changes the fastest.” I.e. the key word is to adapt the trading style to the markets, until it stops working

Federer out of Wimbledon
Just like Mohammed Ali said, "I float like a butterfly, sting like a bee", Jo Wilfred Tsonga said "I serve like lightning, hit forehands like thunder" to 6 time champion Roger Federer in the quarter finals at Wimbledon 2011. An amazing comeback from 2 sets down to win in 5, "Ale, Ale, Ale"

Algo gone mad
20110628 FCPO futures last min madness continues. Seems like the algorithmic trading programs run amok.... Trading at 3070, the price can spike down to 3048 and close at 3063. One of these days there will be a mother of all price spikes....

20110628 After yesterday's last min sell order for 1300 contracts, FCPOfutures gaps up at 3077 today.... It seems the seller was Wilma, one of the big boys in the cpo cartel. The thing is this, the whole market 'knows' that Wilma was the big seller. Makes you wonder whether the big boys want the public to know they sold...??

20110627 FCPO futures 15 min. A large sell order creates the ugly candle, illustrates the need for discipline in trading the last minute in this illiquid market. My fellow trader here says best not to trade at all.... There are multiple unfilled gaps upside.

20110627 FKLI futures 2 min, limping to the close. When there is apathy and lack of interest by traders, the big move coming soon?

Discipline, discipline, discipline. Lose this and we could be like these two.... lost it all and down and out. Nick Leeson (Barings) and Jerome Kerviel (Soc Gen), oh and they exhibited the 'cocky' trait and thought they were the 'elite 5%' of traders. There was also the fkli trader, who made RM3m form almost nothing in 2 years, then lost it all in 6 months....
One must always keep in mind, "We are one trade away from joining the exclusive club above of world's worst traders"

20110621 There was such fear ad trepidation last week on the apocalypse (as the analysts put it) of the Greek default that most panicked and sold or shorted everything in their possession. 5 min NQ futures rallies 31 points right now, so I guess it's Greek tragedy no more....

20110621 In the Business Times website, the article says,
Analysts clueless as bearish sentiment not over yet
Basically the KLCI is undergoing 'window dressing', I think, which is why the market is not going down on bearish sentiment.... cofounding hte analysts.Labels: fkli, index futures, KLCI, stocks
20110621 30 min FCPO futures. Following on from the bulish daily candle (last Friday), at least one wouldn't have done any heavy shorting. The cofirmation was when I spoke to two top traders from the firm (locals) this lunchtime, both of which were extremely BEARISH, citing targets of 2800 and 3070 for fcpo.... When everybody is short, who is going to sell further?

Greek debt default, fears of another Lehman style crisis
The markets are made of humans, they seem to think that 20,000 Greeks protesting in the streets of Athens are representative of the population 11.3 million in Greece. That is they way it goes, the market participants are basically majority over emotional. Hence 95% of them lose in the markets.

20110614 Jack D Schwager (author of Market Wizards) once said if there is a market with 1000 traders, the top 5% will take money from the 95%. If you put those traders 50 of them into the market trading against each other, the statistic of only 5% winners will be repeated. The FCPO futures 2 min chart today.... is like 'you take my $, I take it back' traders killing each other.... At least the traders seem to enjoy their time at the Roulette table...
