Mr Market the psychotic schizophrenic fool

Warren Buffett said he made the mental shift in 'value investing' when he understook his mentor's (Benjamin Graham) concept of Mr Market. Some days he feels like a depressed idiot providing 'value' to buy into, whilst others it behaves like an overexcited jumping jackrabbit (like most the short term locals on BMD), providing elevated prices for the astute trader to sell into.

Tuesday and Wednesday, the locals were forming the opinion that the KLCI was the 'short of the centure' and how they were going to make millions from this crisis.... I rest my case. BTW I think they are still short, so maybe Mr Time can help them out...

Trader sentiment can provide insight into the markets. The 'chatter' from the traders this morning was how the index was setting up for the 'short of the century'. Let's see how this plays out.(or not)

Keeps on truckin, the 60 min fcpo...

"News is trash" and "Stash that flash (news) in the trash" are some notable phrases pertinent to the markets. Some of the traders are constantly chasing "news" and "other traders' opinions".

NQ 10 futures daily, as of now... yet to see how it closes.

Many players in the market are 'bearish' trying to drum up the sentiment to a repeat of the Asian Financial Crisis 1998, culprits are probably JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, using their cronies Fitch.

Basic strategy

(a) In a major downtrend: sell on minor trend rallies into overhead resistance or against a strong down trendline, or on a
45% to 55% rally (or the third to fifth day of the rally) from the recent reaction bottom.
(b) In a major uptrend,: buy on minor trend reactions into support or against a strong up trendline, or On a 45% to 55% reaction (or the third to fifth day of the reaction) from the recent rally high. In this regard, it is imperative to note that, if you misread or choose to ignore the trend of the market, and are buying against an entrenched bear market or selling against an
entrenched bull market, you are likely to spill lots of red ink, and feel pretty silly, as well.

3. Your with-the-trend position could result in a big favourable move, so you should try to remain aboard for the ride. By premising that every with-the-trend position could result in the big move, you will be encouraged to resist the many temptations to trade for the minor swings, or to scalp against-the-trend trades.
4. Once the position is going your way and the favourable trend has been confirmed by your technical analysis, you can add to the position (pyramid) under specific conditions, as noted in Chapters 11I and 15.
5. Maintain your position until you are stopped out, and your trend analysis indicates that the trend has reversed. At that point, if you have been attentive to the market, you should be positioned for the newly formed trend.

Germany Dax index. Well, during the height of tne European debt vrisis, it was the manipulators scaremongering espousing that it was "The end of the world".

There is a favourite saying of mine, "When it seems like the end of the world, it ain't" Marty Schwarz, the Pit Bull has referenced this in his book with the chapter entitled "Going for the Gold".

My trader friend today made a comment, "I don't want to touch the fcpo market today, movement like shit" A nice raly though... there is actually a saying that "There is no such thing as a bad market, it is only the trader that is bad, when they cannot make a profit"

Another Algo bites the dust, got their just rewards <applause> And they cannot use their ratings agency cronies to manipulate the market...

'V' shaped reversal

Futures traders are myopic, they tend to miss the forest for the trees... obnoxiously loud when they make a profit, not realising that any 'clown' can make money in the markets... Case in point I have heard one trader make statement like "seriously, I don't have much money in my bank account'. If that is the case then that trader is trading for the sake of excitement and thrills, rather than for profit to make money. Lost sight of the objective of trading.
