FKLI Futures Trading - Bursamalaysia
This will chronicle trading in the FKLI & FCPO futures. If you don't like what you see/read in this blog, just surf away. These opinions are our personal opinions and just a record of our thoughts..."In evolution, it’s not the biggest, the fiercest nor the smartest that survive, it’s the one that changes the fastest.” I.e. the key word is to adapt the trading style to the markets, until it stops working

Man Utd v Arsenal
May day sees the big clash between the two EPL heavyweights, Theo Walcott ad Nemanja Vidic amongst players to watch... The Arsenal may be out of totle race but a winn would be appreciated by Chelsea, and Ferguson too, who loves a close fight.

20110429 FCPO futures 5 min. My fellow trader was commenting just after the market opened gap down...."From the daily chart, it looks bearish pointing to 3200" Well, if you look at the intraday chart the $ was made in scalping long. The trader I think tried to focus on shorts and was fighting the whole day. This is tradig, when "every comment made on market direction is a partial truth, and hence contains a dangerous lie."
In trading, you own opinions will be your worst enemy, and others' opinions will be your next worse enemy....

Anniversary of Chernobyl this week.... and the radiation leak is still 'active', so they had to now put another seal over the already concreted plant.
Meanwhile in Fukushima a level 7 (same as Chernobyl) and 30 km exclusion 'dead zone' saga is ongoing to prevent further radiation leakage. The radiation leakage is Cesium, having a haf ife of 30 years, meaning that dead zone could be for more than 30 years.
It is time to make the right decision and scrap the nuclear power plans for Malaysia. If they insist to go on with it then put it next to the PM's residence in Putrajaya. Nowhere is safe if there is s leakage.

In the morning, "Malaysia April 1-25 Palm Oil Exports Down 8% On Month -Intertek "
In the afternoon, "Malaysia April 1-25 Palm Oil Exports 947,470 Tons, Down 0.8% -SGS"
Shows how there can be dramatic difference. So I wonder who paid who?

Gunners sunk
Looks like the EPL title race is now between Man U and Chelsea. Just not good enough the Arsenal, lost 2-1 to Bolton.... Even after a penalty save after half time gave the Gunners yet another opportunity... they blew it.

20110422 Looking back at yesterday's post, the downtrend for fkli and uptrend for fcpo finally reasserts, .... I actually overheard one of the big locals say to the other local, "I am short and won't be trading on the long side...", referencing the fcpo. That was yesterday evening after the close.

20110420 NQ futures 30 min, a far cry of the 'end of the world' situation of 2 days ago (S&P puts US outlook on negative). Markets may change but human nature will never change.... Basically they keep repeating the same mistakes...

20110420 "Gold is 1500 per ounce." Bloomberg TV is saying, and "analysts see it going higher". What will probably happen now is a pullback to 1470s before it goes up....

20110418 FCPO futures 1 min breakout, it always comes at an unexpected ways.... in a relatively illiquid market, compared to other world markets. But every market has its nuiances and will attract the players who like the conditions, in this case the player thinks they can use size to move the market... All I can say is if one overleverages, it is a sure way to the poorhouse.

Rookie wins
What a story, the youngest winner of the Malaysian Open, 18 year old Matteo Manassero from Italy, courtesy of a customary collapse by world no 9 Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland in the last round.

Wow, Manchester City beat Man U 1-0 in the semi final of the FA Cup, with a Yaya Toure goal. Touche for City fans, but there were some sour grapes at the end of the match, I think is a result of the culture of Man U, players jtoo high and almighty heads in the sky syndrome...
The BN win in Sarawak State Elections retained the 2/3 majority, albeit with less seats, 55 compared to 62. Markets might gap down on Monday...

Maybank Malaysian Open golf
Fresh from his disastrous last round at the US Masters, Rory McIlroy is now in 2nd position in the second round. US Masters champion Charles Schwartzel from S Africa and World No 1 Martin Kaymer is in the field too. Notice how one cannot stay no 1 forever. There was a trader, who leased the seat to trade as a local made RM3m over 2 years trading the fkli futures.... too much arrogance and overspending plus failure of the 'using size to muscle the market' resulted in the trader now even trying to save on office rent by moving home and trade small. A fall from grace that befall many who thought they were stars.
If you look at golf, the dominant player of the last decade was Tiger Woods, being no 1 for many years.... now he is in decline, not having wo a tournament for over a ear... and ranking drops to no 5. As in sports, peak performers in trading, if they get cocky and arrogant, will decline into poor performers.

20110413 Revisiting the euro, we have an hourly close above 1.4500.. In today's globalised markets, traders be it in stocks or futures, need a big picture view, including fx market moves. Alas as BNM has banned FX trading, the trader say who invests in stocks on Bursamalaysia is handicapped by the information hole. BNM, it is time to liveralise the ringgit and fx trading.
20110413 Just have to post this 1 min fcpo futures chart, which side not to be on?
