20070905 Bursamalaysia will finally have DMA (Direct Market Access) trading, first for derivatives then later for equities. This is an exciting development that will bring bursa into the 'big bang' which other countries in the region such as Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore have experienced through adoption of direct market access for straight through processing for equities and derivatives. What does this mean? Volume will probably shoot up, prices will be more responsive. Did you ever wonder why Bursa equities always lag world markets movements? When Dow Jones goes, Bursa stocks do their 'boleh' stuff, waiting and see before following. DMA might, hopefully make prices more responsive.
